The REO News from May 1954 reports that sales were respectable in Aghinagh.
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Aghinagh Rural Area, Co. Cork: This report is furnished by Mr. S. J. Bennett, R.A.E.
Mr. Bennett reports an increase of acceptors from 226 to 306, and a corresponding revenue increase from £1,847 to £2,465. The cream of local labour has been picked up by the Lee Scheme and 80% of the holes were in rock. The revenue to capital ratio is slightly down on estimate.
Sales have reached the respectable figure of something under £1,000. The Area Organiser, Mr. O’Shea, emphasises that h.p. facilities for agricultural appliances appear to be overdue."
