Sales in Ballylongford were moderate according to The REO News from January 1956.
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Ballylongford Rural Area, Co. Kerry: The Ballylongford Area showed a slight improvement in return, finishing at 5.20% as against a selection figure of 5.16%. The final total of 452 acceptances represents 94% of the total houses in the area. This is a matter on which Mr. Ryan and his crew are to be congratulated.
Sales in the area were moderate at a total of £800, which included 12 pumps, and some further prospect of sales was noted — for example, about twenty petrol‑driven milking machines will be changed over to electric drive as soon as the present engines begin to wear out."
