Sales were low in Brittas according to The REO News from May 1951.
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
“Brittas Rural Area: We regret that we overlooked the publishing in an earlier issue of the post‑construction work in this area supplied by the R.A.E., Mr. Adams, and the A.O., Mr. Walls. Of the original total of 164 economic acceptances in the area, 25 were ‘backsliders’, but 20 additional consumers were obtained so that the nett final acceptances totalled 159. Sales were low in the area, the principal items being a Grain Grinder, a Cooker, 2 Shallow Well Pumps and 2 Deep Well Pumps. It is anticipated that Kettles, Irons, Cookers, Radios and Pumps will be popular in the area. There were 14 wiring contractors at work in the area and it is likely that these have sold a large number of appliances. At the time of writing the report, final cost figures were not available.”
