"wife en route. A pleasant tribute is paid by both Mr. Cremins and Mr. Dunnion to the gang generally, and particularly to the Supervisor, Mr. C. Bradley, and Area Clerk, Mr. G. Mulrooney.

Originally there were 368 consumers in the area, of whom 47 were lost (4 of these consumers’ premises became vacant, 37 were backsliders and 6 became uneconomic as a result of the backsliding). Per contra, 150 new consumers were gained, to bring the total to 471. Revenue increased from £2,197 to £2,776 and capital cost from £35,740 to £42,764. As a result, the return improved from 6.15% to 6.49%.

In the case of four groups, supply was withheld completely until a number of backsliders agreed to honour their signatures, which eventually they did.

About 55% of the consumers installed plugs and 30/35% have outside lights. Some of the consumers who have not installed plugs indicated that they were a little wary about giving the contract to local contractors in case the job would not be done properly. They propose to add them at a later date. Others, too, intend to have outside lights installed by September or October this year.

Sales were low enough for the number of consumers, amounting to a total of £660, including 2 3‑Plate Cookers, 1 Single‑Plate Cooker, 3 Washing Machines, 2 Burco Boilers, 1 Welder, 5 6‑Pt. Kettles, 14 Irons, 1 Deep Well Pump, 1 Shallow Well Pump, 1 20‑H.P. Motor and 1 14‑H.P. Motor. Outside contractors sold 1 3‑Plate Cooker and about 14 Irons and 2 Kettles."
