Clonmany is an area that attracts tourists The REO News from October 1956 reports

This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Clonmany Rural Area, Co. Donegal: Clonmany is not at all a prosperous area but one that attracts tourists who delight in the views of rugged mountains and tiny patchwork farms. Mr. Quinn tells us, however, that his crew is used to the difficulties of working in such a region and we feel sure he was proud to record an improvement in return from 7.15% to 7.93%. Much of the credit for this can go to a unit cost of 31/10d and a transport figure of 3.4 miles per unit and we congratulate Mr. Quinn, his supervisor, Mr. H. Scanlon and his chargehands, on the result.
Sales at a figure of £437 were quite good for the region, and there is some prospect of future sales in the two villages in the area, as the next tourist season approaches."
