Excellent results were obtained in Cloonberne as reported in The REO News from March 1956.

This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Cloonberne Rural Area, Co. Galway: Mr. V. Gallagher and the Cloonberne crew are to be congratulated on improving the area return from 4.85% to 5.80%. We feel that to a great degree this improvement is explained by an average output of 210 units per week at an average cost of 29/8d. per unit. Although the area is normally somewhat boggy, the good weather of last summer made construction much easier, and with plenty of labour of good quality, the aforementioned excellent results were obtained.
It was a bad area for selling and the Area Organiser, Mr. J. K. Hehir could not reach anything like a reasonably good figure. He is of the opinion that a visit by a sales van in about a year’s time might show some results."
