This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Abbeyknockmoy Rural Area, Co. Galway: Estimates provided for 435 consumers, with a percentage of 5.26% for an estimated cost of £50,660. £371 Revenue was lost through backsliding of 53 consumers; and the final figures were 496 consumers at a cost of £54,452, with a revenue of £2,940 and a return of 5.40%. The backsliders included anticipated power loads which will come up again in the future.
Mr. Mooney complains of careless measurement in the original canvass, which caused a temporary rejection of over 100 houses on one spur alone; but an earnest A.O. came right back with an improvement of 20 economic acceptances and correct measurements.
Sales in the area were slightly over £1,000.
Six demonstrations were held, with all the heavy artillery of the District Office and the District Engineer in support – Lady Demonstrator, Sales Van and Tasker Trailer. The sermon given in Abbeyknockmoy by the Curate had for its text all appliances from bulbs to factory equipment.
Mr. McGovern and Mr. Mave, the two Area Organisers concerned, come in for special mention. Mr. Mooney regrets that he has never previously mentioned his Supervisor, Mr. King, and takes this opportunity of praising him in the highest possible way. We feel, however, that the automatic appearance of this famous team – Mooney/King – in "Top Ten" speaks for itself."
