According to The REO News From October 1950 a report from Kilcurry makes interesting reading
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Kilcurry Rural Area: Mr. Cluff’s report on the construction in this area makes interesting reading. In spite of the fact that he had 81 ‘backsliders’ as against which he obtained 35 new acceptances, his return has improved from 8.35% to 9.73%. Sales in the area were excellent, reaching a total of £1,194, the principal items being: 5 grain grinders; 1 oat roller; 1 power packet; 12 large cookers; 2 breakfast cookers; 1 refrigerator; 5 washing machines; 3 vacuum cleaners; 15 kettles and 36 irons. In addition, District Sales disposed of 1, 2‑H.P. motor; 3 large cookers; 1 vacuum cleaner and various irons, kettles, etc. Radios, irons and kettles, approximately 50 in all, were sold by local contractors, who also sold 3 large cookers, and 1 water pump. It is anticipated that more grain grinders will be sold later when the farmers have recovered from the initial cost of wiring. Five farmers are also interested in installing milking machines. Five orders for pumps are also awaiting the approval of the Department of Agriculture."
