The REO News from September 1956 notes that socket outlets were installed in almost every house in Killure
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Killure Rural Area, Co. Galway:
Mr. S. Foley and his crew commenced construction in Killure rural area with a headache that the area had been designed and authorised on Rev.11 costs but Rev.12 was in force by the time they reached the area. For this reason and since a fairly large amount of money was expended at the minimum return, the area ratio fell from 5.78% to 5.39%.
Sales were at the rather moderate figure of £500, but wiring was reasonably good and socket outlets were installed in almost every house. Future demand may, therefore, be reasonably good but will be principally for the smaller appliances."
