Rock abounded in Kinvara according to The REO News from June 1956
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Kinvara Rural Area, Co. Galway.
Mr. Conchubhair will be interested to know that the “Watchdogs of Cost and Progress” made some amendments to his post construction report to record the very satisfactory result that the area return improved from 3.66% to 3.92%. It is also gratifying to note that his final connections were 81% of the total residents as against the original figure of 75.5%. The crew is to be complimented on the result, in a region in which rock abounded to a fairly high degree.
Contrary to expectations the people are fairly well off, and it is surprising to learn that sales only reached £290, and that doubt is expressed as to whether further sales will be forthcoming for some time."
