Sales were good in Lady’s Island according to The REO News from June 1953
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"It was very pleasing indeed to receive from the A.O., Mr. J. P. Coade, the list of his sales in Lady’s Island Rural Area, which amounted to £3,923 0s. 5d. This is an excellent performance and we congratulate Mr. Coade most heartily. In case there are any “Doubting Thomases”, may we admit that we at first were frankly sceptical but the D.S.M. in Waterford has been able to confirm the figure with the minor proviso that there may be some changes in the types of pump sold.
The principal items in the total include: 18 Pressure Storage Pumps; 4 Grain Grinders; 1 Welder; 1 Animal Food Cooker; 11 Burco Boilers; 1 12‑gal. Waterheater; 1 Power Packet; 1 Refrigerator; 2 Vacuum Cleaners; 19 Washing Machines; 32 Irons; 29 6‑pt. Kettles; and no less than 51 Cookers, comprising 30 3‑plates, 17 2‑plates, 3 4‑plates and 1 single‑plate.
Once again we say “Well Done John Coade”."
