Sales were low in Liscannor as reported in The REO News from October 1956
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Liscannor, Rural Area, Co. Clare: Mr. F. J. Walsh tells us that the consumer position in Liscannor was a considerable source of worry, and had to be kept under review throughout the entire construction period. To begin with a number of families had already been transferred to Co. Meath and a number more were expecting to follow. Naturally they did not take supply and this necessitated a considerable re-checking of the economics of extensions and in working out S.S.C.’s. Altogether 110 consumers were lost and 52 new consumers were gained.
Final figures were not available at the time of writing but from the fact that unit costs up to the end of August had averaged 30/– Mr. Walsh has hopes that the percentage return will hold its own.
Sales were expectedly low at a total of £443 and Mr. M. Larkin, Jnr. cannot in any sense be blamed for the low figure, since he made a continuous effort throughout the entire construction period."
