The REO News from August 1957 reports on the blasting of rock in Monamolin
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Mr. J. McBride brings another Wexford area under our notice in the Monamolin Area which lies south‑east of Gorey. No particular constructional difficulties were met with, and Mr. McBride was especially thankful that the blasting of rock holes had been finished before the local Garda Superintendent made an order regulating the use of gelignite. Under this order a Garda escort would have had to be collected from Wexford, brought to each hole to be blasted, and then driven back to Wexford again."
