Storms caused some delay in Moyvalley according to The REO News from October 1955.
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Moyvalley Rural Area, Co. Kildare: Mr. Boylan and his crew in Moyvalley broke just about even on the area return with a final figure of 5.95 against design figure of 5.96. The unit cost at 31/9d was not unsatisfactory, but the transport at 7.8 miles per unit was very high indeed. The reason for this was that the crew operated from the office they had held in the adjacent Carbury Area and it was located three miles from the nearest point of the Moyvalley Area.
Construction took place during the bad weather period, November to March last, and a portion of the gang interrupted construction to help out following the storms of 8th December last.
Sales by Mr. Leo Poole reached a good figure of £1,216 mostly in domestic appliances. Outside contractors sold about £500 worth and some of them picked up Mr. Poole’s prospects by price‑cutting. Mr. Poole is of the opinion that future sales prospects in the area are good, and that a visit by the sales van just about now should prove successful. Outside lights were installed in about 43% of the houses when the construction crew left."
