The REO News from May 1951 reports that sales were reasonable in Piercetown
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Piercetown Rural Area: In his report on this area, Mr. Heslin tells us that they had the handicap of 77 “back‑sliders” but were fortunate enough to secure 82 new consumers, bringing the final total of acceptances to 311. Final figures for cost and revenue were not readily available at the time of the report.
Sales in the area were reasonably good, totalling £850, but would have been much better if the appliances had been available. Contractors from Wexford sold quite a lot of appliances in the area as they were able to effect quicker delivery. Washing Machines, Pumps and Cookers are indicated as being popular items."
