The wiring of houses in Ticknock was most satisfactory according to The REO News from September 1950.
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
"Ticknock Rural Area: When Mr. McKenna wrote his report on Ticknock Rural Area, he had not got the final figures for Capital Expenditure and, consequently, is unable to give us his final percentage. He is confident, however, that this will be improved beyond the original design figure.
Of the original 332 acceptances, 20 were 'backsliders', but the total number of houses serviced amounted to 403, making a net increase of 91. There were plenty of wiring contractors and the wiring of houses went ahead most satisfactorily.
The sale of electrical appliances was low, but this was principally due to the proximity of the area to the city, and most sales were effected through Showrooms or private firms. Cookers, particularly, were in good demand. On two adjacent transformers there is a total of 10 Cookers. Waterheaters, Fires and Radios were also popular."
