Tullaroan was a small area according to The REO News from May 1954.
This digital scan from the REO News displays the following text:
“Tullaroan Rural Area, Co. Kilkenny:
Mr. J.A. Vale remarks that a small area such as Tullaroan imposes an extra burden on an R.A.E. and Supervisor, who have to work harder and have less units of work to show than if they were building a reasonably large area. It is felt that no team should be sent on a succession of small areas.
The estimate was overspent by £175 gross, with an increase in revenue from £1,350 to £1,421, a ratio improvement from 5.13% to 5.34%. There was a nett gain of 11 acceptances, making the final total 187. Sales amounted to less than £500.”
